Facts on Italy

Welcome to Italy! Here are some important information you'll need to know about Italy. It will definitely come in handy if you plan on visiting or even living in Italy!

The population of Italy is approximately 58 million people. This is slightly less than other countries in Europe - Such as France.

Italy has a republican Government. Important to know if you plan on moving there.

Italy has the 7th largest economy in the world. The main exports which helps this are Chemicals, Motor Vehicles (Such as Cars) and Fashion (A lot of professional brands of clothing are made in Italy).

Obviously the most common language spoken in Italy is Italian. No surprises there. German, French and English are also spoken in Italy too.

The ethnic groups living in Italy are the Italians, German and Albanian-Italians.

Vatican City is located in Italy, but is seen as a different "unit". This is where the Pope is located. Most of the Italian residents are Roman Catholic, like many other countries in Europe.

One of the most famous places in Italy is called Pisa. The reason for this is because of the great tower that is built there. The tower is called the Leaning Tower of Pisa for obvious reasons, the tower appears to be leaning - freestanding. It is located next to a Cathedral. The funny thing is that it was meant to stand vertically until it began to leave because of poor foundations. This made it even more popular.

The largest cities in Italy (And the places that are good to visit) are mainly Milan, Rome, Naples and Turin.

Italy has also been known as the artistic place of the world, with lots of artists moving to Italy to show off their creations.
